About Us

Sing Sing Sing is a choir for people living with dementia and for people who care for someone with dementia.

We meet weekly to share the joy of singing together, learn new skills, connect with others and have fun AND from time to time we perform so that others can experience just how fabulous we are.

At Sing Sing Sing we know that singing together in

a choir can positively impact mental well-being and quality of life for people with dementia and their carers.

FAQs

Am I eligible to join Sing Sing Sing?

Sing Sing Sing is a choir for people living with dementia and for people who care for someone with dementia. We encourage people with dementia to come with a family member or friend because it’s such a fun thing to do together. However, some people come on their own and others are accompanied by a careworker. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the choir, please contact us and we can talk about what will work best for you.

What sort of music does the choir sing?

We sing a wide range of music from the 1920s to the 2020s! We sing songs we all know and we learn new songs!

Is there a cost to be part of Sing Sing Sing?

There is a term fee (there are 4 terms per year). This fee covers things like purchase and preparation of music and lyric sheets, engagement of professional musicians, licences and insurances and morning tea. Please get in touch to discuss the fees relevant to your circumstances.

I can’t sing/ I don't have any experience, can I still join?

At Sing Sing Sing we believe everyone can sing. Melissa, our Musical Director is really good at helping people discover their voice. We’d love the chance to help you find your voice.

I’d like to support Sing Sing Sing, how can I do that?

Thank you. We’d love to hear from you. We have opportunities for people who would like to volunteer as buddies in the choir or donate time, expertise, money, catering supplies or equipment. You could also book us for a performance or talk to us about partnering to create new opportunities for people to join a choir for people with dementia. If you’d like to talk with us about any of these opportunities please contact us.

How can I find out more?

Get in touch with us using the form below and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
